Former Indian captain Sunil Gavaskar praised T Natarajan and said that the SunRisers Hyderabad passenger has regained confidence in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 after overcoming setbacks over injuries. Natarajan, who was bought back by SRH for INR 4 crore during the IPL auction, is currently the second-highest wicket-taker of the season with 15 wickets from seven matches. Gavaskar was extremely impressed by the left-arm pacemaker for the hard yards, adding that Natarajan is definitely on his way for a return to the Indian cricket team.

His remarks came after Natarajan played for SRH on Saturday during their win over Royal Challengers Bangalore. Natarajan returned with impressive 3/10 figures in four overs when SRH bowled out for RCB for just 68 – the sixth lowest score in IPL ever.

“We all know that yorkers are his specialty, but he held the ball back well. It’s good to see him back, because for a while it seemed like Indian cricket lost him. It’s good to have him back. “I’m pretty sure, with the way he’s bowling between the 16th and 20th innings, he’s going to be a lot in the fight,” Gavaskar told the official broadcast program on Star Sports.

The legendary batsman added that Natarajan is setting his sights on the T20 World Cup, which will be played in Australia later this year.

“Last year, maybe, he was not at the top of his game. At the moment he is confident. He has had his share of injuries, but he is fresh and rare to go. He admits that there is a World Cup. “tournament, he wants to be on that flight to Australia,” he said during the post-match program.

After Natarajan’s experiences, SRH chased the target of 69 runs with nine wickets and 12 overs left. SRH has so far won five of their seven matches to be among the top four on the points ladder.
